We extract the herbal essence from proprietary herbs that have been used in our family for generations using our time-tested process of combining the herbs with the olive and grapeseed oils used in our oils and soaps. This is the base oil we use in all our soaps and in our skin oil.
We produce all the base oil we use.
Most of the herbs we use in making our base oil are grown locally. Our primary herb grower, who grows herbs exclusively for us, has been coaxing quality plants, vegetables, and herbs from the earth for many years and supplies us with 75% of our herbs.
We do not add fragrance to any of our products as some people have allergic reactions to products with fragrances.
We do not add essential oils or coloring to any of our products.
Our soaps and oils contain no petroleum products.
All our soaps are handcrafted in small batches and cured for at least six weeks before we label and sell them.
In making soap, we thoroughly mix our propriety base oil with other oils including coconut and palm, before adding a carefully calculated amount of lye.
The amount of lye we use leaves a small amount of the oils that are not converted to soap, a process called super fatting. (the "old timey" lye soap left the excess lye not converted to soap in the soap and it was very harsh to the skin.) Our soaps are not drying or harsh but provide the most silky, luxurious bath you can imagine while leaving the skin soft and supple.
